I run for your help! Literally, I'll run a full marathon (42km) for every 420€ collected.
These are hard and complicated times. Times that pretty much none of us has ever gone through and while we might take some of it lightly (after all, all we have to do is stay home), for others this is all too very real. Those on the front lines of the hospitals IC, or those who support vital functions of our society so that one day we can go back to our "normal" lives. Some of these people are the Red Cross workers and volunteers, who risk their lives on a daily basis so we don't have to.
These last weeks, seeing how the world is getting turned upside down, I’ve been wanting to contribute in some way. I wasn't sure how I could help but I can run, so I thought maybe I could put those two together. So I decided to put the challenge to myself and to everyone else who wants to support by donating to the Dutch Red Cross. So for every 420€ raised I'll run a full distance 42km marathon (more details on that to follow), up until my next "real" race, the TCS Amsterdam Marathon on the 18th of October. Hopefully by then this Corona crisis won't be much of a crisis anymore and all the good people helping others can take a very well deserved rest.
To be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm getting myself into (could end up just running 1 marathon or if this blows up having to run a marathon every weekend), but if you are willing to help then I'll sure run for it.
Thank you!
