Wildlife Justice Commission

Fighting transnational organised wildlife crime The global trafficking of wildlife continues relentlessly, driving many species toward extinction. Massive efforts to raise awareness and reduce demand aren’t slowing one of the world’s most lucrative forms of transnational organised crime. Time is running out and we won’t get a second chance.

The Wildlife Justice Commission was created to prevent an irreversible loss. We know something must be done and we know what to do. After just a few years the results are clear.

Our undercover investigators infiltrate trafficking networks to drive high-level criminals out of the shadows while unearthing information that our intelligence team, the largest of its kind in the world, analyses to give law enforcement a critical edge in the fight against transnational organised wildlife crime.

And we also work with governments to make sure they act with the speed and decisiveness the scale of these crimes demand. Even the eleventh hour is not too late if we take action.

We had a powerful idea four years ago. Now we have proved that it works.

It is thanks to our supporters that to date we have been able to support law enforcement agencies arresting 93 high-level traffickers, disrupting 13 criminal networks and seizing over 1.7 tonnes of ivory representing over 170 elephants, 18 rhino horns, 780 kg of pangolin scales representing 2,080 pangolins, 4 baby orangutans and over 6,000 live freshwater turtles and tortoises.

We can do this: together. Join us!
