Save the guardians of our forests!
The Garden dormouse was previously widespread across much of Europe. Unfortunately, for the last 40 years, the Garden dormouse lost more than half of its areas. Mammal Conservation Europe starts a Europe-wide Species Recovery Initiative to save this beautiful species – one of the forest's guardians. Dormice species live in the trees in forests, orchards, and gardens. They eat insects keeping those in balance and helping this way the forests healthier. More than 50 European specialists in 23 countries are working to find out why this species is disappearing and what can be done to save it.
