The "Sumatra Wildlife Center" has recently been built in Sumatra by JAAN . The purpose of this center is to stop the international animal trade of Indonesia.
The ports of South Sumatra are searched with K9 tracking dogs, which are trained to look for wildlife. And not without success! At the end of October 2019, 3 macaques, a leaf monkey and 300+ birds were found. These animals could be seized immediately.
In the Wildlife Center the leaf monkey 'Angel' (see picture) turned out to have a bullet wound in her side. Due to the lack of an X-ray at the center, we couldn’t trace and remove the bullet immediately. We ask for your help with this. We need a total of 3800 Euro to purchase the x-ray. Every donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated!
