Once again I am running 5k in The Hague, this time on International Womens Day in support of providing training to women in one of the poorest Indian states, Odisha, to help their voices be heard in advocating for access to basic human rights, and more specifically for safe and sustainable water and sanitation.
IRC has the modest goal of raising €2,500 to facilitate women's capacity building workshops in our partner district of Odisha, India.
The Odisha project, under Watershed, focuses on strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations to represent marginalised groups, particularly women, and advocate for sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services for all. The project facilitates training and workshops to empower women with the right knowledge and skills to stand up, speak out and make decisions for themselves, by themselves.
