With the Impact Award, we honour six groundbreaking artists and cultural practitioners whose work inspires positive social change and engages with their local communities. These role models exemplify transformative power of culture, within their contexts and beyond.
The Impact Award is presented biannually to artists whose groundbreaking quality of work has made widely positive contribution to their society. Recipients receive a grant of €50.000 during an official ceremony at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, celebrating their consistent dedication and engagement with urgent global issues.
Representing a variety of fields, from architecture, poetry and philosophy to visual and performance art, these individuals dedicate their work to addressing political and environmental issues, the nature of identity and human rights in forms that engage and empower their own communities.
The Prince Claus Impact Award Jury is an independent body, comprised of five international and highly inspiring individuals. Throughout the selection process, the Jury is committed to thorough research and consideration of the nominees’ background, geography, gender, discipline, and the socio-political issues their work addresses.
